Miraculous Awakening: 40+ Baptisms

In Mbale, eastern Uganda, the Russian Orthodox Church’s Exarchate of Africa is experiencing rapid growth after locals—some from Muslim backgrounds—reported dreams of a priest delivering them from darkness. When an Orthodox priest arrived, many recognized him as the figure from their visions.

A new parish dedicated to St. Patrick has since formed, where Fr. Silouan (Brown) baptized over 55 people, with 80 more preparing for baptism. About 150 faithful were also anointed with myrrh from the wonderworking Hawaiian Iveron Icon. Clergy describe the movement as a work of divine grace.

The growing parish still faces limited space and resources, but local faithful and supporters have helped secure a tent for worship, allowing the community to continue gathering as more people embrace the Orthodox faith.
